Stay. Relaxed. Together.
For our wedding, we imagined a place...
where the people most special to us could enjoy themselves and be celebrated as much, if not more, than us.
where we can all arrive on Friday and not worry about a thing - not where to eat, how to get around, or any outside responsibilities - all weekend.
where nature blends seamlessly with rustic, elegant comfort.
where moose and loon outnumber cars and people.
where food is prepared from the best that our backyard and season have offered
where a quiet day spent in a chair by the lake is as expected as a day full of visiting, hiking, canoeing, and swimming.
where, most importantly, we can all be together.
This is Arowhon Pines in Algonquin. This is Us.
Arowhon does not have a physical street address. GPS coordinates are N45.35.56, W78.41.35
If not arriving by canoe or float plane, basic driving directions are: Take Highway 60 into Algonquin Provincial Park. Turn north on Arowhon Rd. Go to the end of the road.
It is a 3.5 hour drive from downtown Toronto without traffic. Add 1 - 1.5 hours with Friday afternoon traffic.
Please carpool. Contact us if you have or need extra seats.
Rooms are four star private bedrooms, each with ensuite bath, in large historic cabins with a central shared lounge and fireplace.
We have reserved the entire resort, and will be assigning room locations based on final attendance, and snoring volume.
Food at Arowhon is special. Three meals a day served in the log cabin dining room, at the waters' edge, with multiple courses and options to chose from.
Please specify allergies and preferences (vegan, etc.) with your RSVP.
You won’t go hungry, so no need to bring food or store it in your rooms (unless you want creatures visiting in the night).
Wine, beer, and select cocktails will be provided for meals (dinners and BBQ) and special activities.
Otherwise, Arowhon is BYOB, so for those who like a steady drip, please feel free to pick up a few on your way in; there’s a bar fridge in each cabin.
The resort grounds are responsible open carry, so walk over to that neighbouring cabin, and attempt a traditional Canadian greeting “Beer?”
Lucky few may get to taste Phil Wright’s one-of-a-kind, three ingredient martini - vodka, ice, shaker.
We have subsidized the cost of the stay at Arowhon, bringing the all-inclusive price to $154 /night /person.
The resort adds gratuity for all services as a flat 15% rate (no tipping allowed), then Ontario sales tax.
This amounts to $400 CAD/ person for two nights accommodations, six meals, and use of all recreational facilities.
Unfortunately, as we have booked the entire resort, we can not pro-rate for a one-night stay.
We understand this is still steep, so please let us know if there is anything we can do to help - please do not let cost be the reason for not joining us.
Please RSVP by August 1
Follow the RSVP link, select “Rachel and Dylan” from the drop-down, and enter code AP36584.
Enter your names and credit card information to book your stay - you will not be charged until Sunday check-out.
Arowhon is disconnected. In the woods, on a lake, 8 km up a dirt road. There is no cell service, wifi, or TV.
Should you require outside access, there are a couple of pay phones, as well as a "business centre" (a single laptop hooked up to internet).
The resort can also be contacted by telephone in case of urgent matters. This is available 24/7.
Toll-free Canada & USA: 1-866-633-5661
Sorry, as much as we love them (and we really do), this is a kid- and dog- free weekend (flower girls excepted).
Infants needing to be with parents are welcome, and babysitting will be provided on site as needed.
Arowhon is in the middle of Algonquin Park, where place is shared by moose, bears, and other humans camping and canoeing.
Accordingly, we believe the safety and noise policy can be summed up as in Switzerland: Don’t be an idiot. (Please.)
